Friday Night Movie 8 Mile (2002)

I normally don’t watch hip-hop movies, but I heard a review that 8 Mile was ‘Unexpectedly good” and so I decided to give it a look. I knew some about Mr. Eminem from wikipedia – http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marshall_Bruce_Mathers_III
This movie was good, it showed a dark, but real portrayal of the rag to riches story, while leaving the riches part out. It highlighted the personal struggles of someone facing adversity in their roots, yet achieving their goals through hard work, and facing the challenges head on.
This isn’t something light and cheery, and in fact is a sad story during most of the movie. If the viewer can see it though, there is a strong story of will and perseverance to be found in it that I enjoyed.
